Civil War Era Military Check Pair. Lot of 2 Federal checks used to pay soldiers during and after the Civil War, both are ca.1860-70. Includes Detroit, Michigan, Depositary of the U.S., Brown; and New York, NY, 186x, Assistant Treasurer of the U.S., Red, both Unissued and with Allegorical Liberty with Flag and eagle at left and shield with "Treasurer of the U.S." on it. Both in AU to Uncirculated condition. Both are Lit by Hatch.
