1853/54: Plate Proof for the 1 d. value in black, a block of four on unwatermarked slightly rough medium wove paper, marginal from base of sheet (positions 208-209/228-229), insignificant diagonal bend mentioned for full accuracy only and not affecting the appearance in any way, fresh and very fine. Rare.
1854 (Aug 1): 1 d. black, wmk. Swan sideways, an unused example with good margins all round, fresh greyish-black shade with fine definition, unused without gum. A very rare stamp so fine Gi = £ 1'700.
Note: Margins between the stamps are never greater than 1¼ mm. and often less. Thus four margin examples are of considerable scarcity.
1854 (Aug 1): Swan 1 d. black, a used example with very large margins on three sides, ample at right, lightly cancelled by void obliterator in black. Very scarce so fine Gi = £ 350.
1854 (Aug 1): Swan 1 d. black, a used example with huge to large margins for this issue, showing small portion of adjoining stamp at left, lightly cancelled by Bowra circle and bars numeral "8" obliterator of Fremantle in black. Scarce so fine Gi = £ 350.
1854 (Aug 1): Swan 1 d. black, a used example with large even margins all round and showing portion of adjoining stamp at left, in a silver-greyish shade, lightly cancelled by void obliterator in black. Very scarce so fine Gi = £ 350.

1854 (Aug 1): Swan 1 d. black, a used example with huge to large margins for this issue, with portion of adjoining stamp at right, lightly cancelled by "1" numeral obliterator in black of Perth used between August and September 1854. Very scarce and most attractive Gi = £ 350.
1854 (Aug 1): Swan 1 d. black, a used example with good to large margins for this issue, with portion of adjoining stamp at top and a black 'burr rub' in lower margin, lightly cancelled by "14" numeral obliterator of Albany in typically brownish-red ink. Scarce and fine Gi = £ 350.
1854 (Aug 1): Swan 1 d. black, a used example with large even margins for this issue, crisply cancelled by void numeral obliterator in black - these handstamps were made in London and arrived on 6 August 1854, but distribution did not begin until 12 September 1854. A fine stamp Gi = £ 350.
1854 (Aug 1): Swan 1 d. black, a used example with good to large margins for this issue, with portion of adjoining stamps at left and at base, lightly cancelled by void obliterator in red (this ink being used during 1855-56 in Perth and in Guildford). Very scarce and extremely fine. Signed A. Diena Gi = £ 350.
1854 (Aug 1): Swan 1 d. black, a used example with good to large margins for this issue, with portion of adjoining stamp at top, lightly cancelled by Bowra circle and bars numeral "2" obliterator of Perth in black: this cancellation was introduced in 1859 with numbers 1-3 being used in Perth. Horizontal bend but a most attractive upright strike Gi = £ 350.
