Obv.: smiling Frankil + legend "The Will to Achieve"; date 1958. Rev.: 14 line dedication + faux Admiral Ben Moreell signature. Frenkil (1909- 1999) was a Baltimore-based Jewish contractor and philanthropist who developed good political connection, incl. presidents, governors & elected officials. Moreell (1892- 1978) commissioned the medal: Jewish, highly regarded officer and engineer, chief of USN's Bureau of Yards & Docks, father of the Navy's 'Seabees' (Construction Forces). Obv.: Star of David w/ "Zion" in center; leg.: "HaHistadrut HaZionit BeTripolitania Makhleket HaKhinukh # 'Ben Yehuda'" ['The Zionist Federation in Tripolitania, Department of Education # 'Ben Yehuda'']. Rev.: Commandment Tablets; leg.: "Tkhiyat Safa Tkhyat Am" ['Revival of Language Revival of Nation']. BY was a local youth movement promoting awareness of Hebrew; it founded the "HaTikva" school system and was selected to run it.
