Signed by President Franklin Roosevelt just two months prior to his death, this short snorter boasts signatures such as F.D.R, Harry Hopkins (Close advisor to F. D. R. and major architect of the New Deal of the 1930’s), Dewey E. Long and others. Signed on a 1937, 1 Ruble note. Choice AU/UNC. *The Yalta Conference, sometimes called the Crimea Conference and codenamed the Argonaut Conference, held February 4–11, 1945, was the World War II meeting of the heads of government of the United States, the United Kingdom and the Soviet Union, represented by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Prime Minister Winston Churchill and Premier Joseph Stalin, respectively, for the purpose of discussing Europe's post-war reorganization. Lincoln, This Monument is Inscribed in the Hearts of the American People…to the Memory of Abraham Lincoln, Sixteenth President of the United States of America, and the Great Emancipator of Four Millions of a Down-trodden Race. No place, no date, [ca.1865?] Broadside, 17x23”. Minor wear along folds, and edge wear. With several splits. Suitable for framing and a fine piece during the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation. A stark memorial broadside made up of an elegiac text in a variety of types surmounted by a woodcut Union Star within a simple monumental form rendered with rules, the whole surrounded by a heavy black border. From the descendants of James Garfield. Not in Monaghan or the McClellan Collection. Rare and historic document.
