1859/65: Eagle 80 c. carmine in a horizontal strip of three, close to good margins all round, used on 1871 double rate cover to Bordeaux endorsed "via Brindisi" tied by dotted "INDE" lozenge in black. "INDE / PONDICHERY" despatch cds below (Sept 8) in black and red 'PD' alongside. Marseille entry marking in red on obverse and arrival (Oct 7) in black on reverse. Arricator at left otherwise a fine and scarce cover.
