Verticais 1850: 30 r. grey-black, a used block of four, shaved to large margins, used on reverse of 10 February 1851 cover, no side flaps, from Rio de Janeiro to Marseille, tied by weak red datestamps and also by London transit cds and Marseille arrival cds, mailed via British P.O. "RIO-JANEIRO" with cds in black (Feb 10), framed "COLONIES / &c. ART.13" applied in London and thence via Calais to Marseille (March 17) where charged with handstruck "15" decimes due on delivery in black. Opened for Exhibit display, an attractive usage.
