1868: Peru Lecoq 1 d. green tied to 1870 cover by Lima cds (Jan 27) in black, in combination with Great Britain 1865/67 4 d. vermilion pl. 11 in a horizontal pair originally applied over edge of envelope endorsed "via Panama y Southampton" with 1867/70 6 d. violet pl. 8 (Gi Z37, Z42) tied by "C38" obliterators of Callao in black. Callao cds (Jan 28) of British P.O. and 'London / Paid' transit (Feb 28) in red and thence via Calais to Riez, France (March 2). Despite the obvious imperfection, the cover sensibly opened for display, scarce and most appealing. Ex the Brian Moorhouse estate.
