Verticais 1850: 300 r. black, a very fine used example on reverse of 1862 cover from Rio de Janeiro to London endorsed "Paid" and "per Navarre" and "Via Mala de Paris" in manuscript, tied by large dotted roller handstamp of Rio de Janeiro in black with "CORREIO GERAL DA CORTE" despatch cds on obverse (Nov 25) with red framed "P.D." below. "London / Paid" arrival cds (Dec 21) in red. Sensibly opened for Exhibit display, a magnificent and rare cover with just three such single frankings recorded.
