Early Mail from Smirna 1637/1873: The collection on Exhibit leaves (24 covers/entires) with 1637 entire letter to Marseille, 1680-1697 entire letters (6) from the Venturini archive with docketing of both Ship's and Captains, 1759 entire letter to Marseille originally endorsed via Vienna but redirected via Geneva due to the Seven Year's War; 1764 entire to Marseille, 1791 entire to Verviers and 1788 entire to London with "VOIE DE MER / PAR MARSEILLE" in black, 1816-1827 entires (3) to Marseille with "COLONIES PAR / MARSEILLE" entry marks in black all slitted for disinfection; 1834 entire to The Hague, Netherlands with fine "SIGILLUM SANITATIS" cachet applied at Semlin1835 entire to Rome disinfected at Ancona, 1851 entire to Odessa rastel punched and slit, 1868/73 covers to Spain via Marseille and sent on unpaid with '18' or '36' decimos rates etc. A fine group with many disinfected.
