1 d. black, plate 7, lettered AA, ample to very large margins including partial sheet margins at top and left, tied to folded cover by red Maltese Cross, reverse with "Marsden-Lancashire" undated skeleton despatch strike in black, to London, with two dated backstamps of January 6, 1840, some light toning mostly confined to reverse, light filing folds, else fine Gi. AS46 = £ 825.

1 d. black, plate 7, block of four, lettered QA-RB, close to large margins, tied by smudged Maltese Cross cancellations in red to folded entire from Dundee to Edinburgh, with black boxed despatch (13 February, 1841) and same-day receiver backstamps, the block showing signs of having been lifted and replaced, the entire with pressed creases and signs of repair, but a rare franking, the largest recorded block of this plate recorded on cover Gi...

1 d. black (11) and 1 d. red-brown (1), plate 8, lettered AJ, CK, CL, DH, EB, EI (one each in red and black), FD, GL, HD, MC and ND, most with four good or better margins, cancelled with Maltese Cross in black or red, AJ, DH, and LB on piece, AJ with adjacent town datestamp, some small faults as expected, but many fine examples and crisp cancellations Gi. AS49, AS51 = £ 6'000+.

1 d. black, plate 8, lettered KG-LH, margins touching to close, cancelled with four clear strikes of Maltese Cross, block has been torn through LG-LH and re-assembled, vertical crease through central margin and other small imperfections, of good appearance Gi. AS49 = £22'000.

1 d. red-brown, plate 8, lettered SD, four good to large margins, cancelled with neatly-struck Maltese Cross in black, rich colour, very fine Gi. AS51 = £ 240.

1 d. red-brown, plate 8, lettered DF, four good to large margins, tied by black Maltese Cross to folded entire from the Commissioners of Stamps and Taxes in Edinburgh, carried locally, with c.d.s. receiver on reverse (3 June, 1841), a few stains to cover, stamp with fresh bright colour, fine Gi. AS51 = £ 500.

1 d. black, plate 9, group of thirteen used singles, lettered BJ, CL, EJ, GB, IH, ?L, MD, OD (2), PE, and PG, most with four good to large margins, all cancelled with Maltese Cross in black (9) or red (2), range of depth of shade and signs of plate wear, the occasional flaw but a chiefly fresh group, superior to what is often encountered, ideal for further study of this scarce plate Gi. AS56.

1 d. black, plate 9, block of four, lettered DK-EL, four mostly ample to very good margins, just touching at right, cancelled with Maltese Crosses in red, light diagonal wrinkle to EL, some surface scuffing, an otherwise fine and rare multiple, believed to be one of only two recorded blocks from this plate cancelled in red Gi. AS56 = unpriced as block.
