1859 (August 7): Entire letter from Port Louis to Amsterdam franked with 1859 Lapirot 2 d. blue horizontal pair (positions 11-12), intermediate impression, large margins on two sides, close but clear at right and foot, tied by oval mute cancel, endorsed "via Suez & Marseille", with red Suez TPO on front, reverse with indistinct Mauritius double split-ring, Marseille a Paris TPO, Paris (13 Sept) cds in black and Amsterdam receiver (14 Sept), adhesives with some staining, horizontal fold, a scarce destination.
