Russian P.O. in Alexandretta 1865 (May 7): Entire letter from Alexandria via Alexandretta to Aleppo, endorsed "Vapore Russo", internally dated "12 Maggio 1865" (gregorian), struck in transit on reverse by clear “PORT ALEKSANDRETTA” cds with year slug omitted in blue (Tchilinghirian fig 799) with sender’s cachet on front. Fine and most attractive.
