Russian P.O. in Alexandretta 1869 (March 27): Lettersheet from Aleppo via Alexandretta to Genova, bearing on reverse Turkey 1869 20 pa. green (torn when opened) & 1 pi. yellow, tied by triple framed Arabic HALEP handstamp in blue paying the journey to Alexandretta. In addition in transit a "PORT ALEKSANDRETTA" cds was struck alongside. On front, as strip of five and a single example of Russian Levant 1868 1 kop. brown perf. 11½ (3 adhesives with file folds) were tied by lightest rhomboid numeral '783' of Beirut in blue, a similarly indistinct arrival cds in blue was struck on reverse. Item refolded for presentation purposes, nevertheless a scarce combination cover, certificate Holcombe (1995).
