Second French Occupation 1807-1809/1814 1810 (Nov 26): Letter dictated by Napoleon Bonaparte at Meneval, to the Duc de Feltre, concerning Corfu - "to write with the utmost vigour to the King of Naples to urge him to continue the supplies to Corfu. Inform him that I will hold him responsible if Corfu would be short the slightest commodity and that the possession of that island is more important to him than to France, and that I will not accept that where I have stationed 30'000 troops. 10'000 would be at risk to die from hunger and my army would be dishonoured...". French transliteration accompanies the lot. Signed clearly at base with "Nap" signature. Rare.
