Russian Post Office in Alexandretta 1864 (April 7): Entire letter from Beirut with forwarder Giuseppe Parodi to Alexandretta, then to Aleppo, struck on reverse by "PORT ALEKSANDRETTA" cds (March 28, julian) of the ROPiT post office (Tchilinghirian fig 800) in blue. Cover taxed with '1' piastre for the journey from Alexandretta to Aleppo.
Reference: This strike is the template for figure 800 in Tchilinghirian & Stephens, vol 6 on page 536.
