1840: 1 d. black, Mulready letter sheet, Frome 3, A69, used from London to Elgin, Scotland, dated 29 May 1840, cancelled by a red Maltese Cross, with faint partial London Twopenny Post handstamp in black alongside. To the reverse a circular dispatch in red and a Scottish arrival (May 31) in black. Cover is stained and there are faults and wear to edges. A scarce May usage Gi = £ 1'200.

1840: 2 d. blue, Mulready letter sheet, a97, showing pre-printing paper folds, used from Edinburg to Dingwall, dated 1 July 1841, cancelled by a black Maltese Cross, with a Digwall circular arrival datestamp alongside in black (JY 2). To the reverse a faint backstamp in red. Cover is soiled, heavily to the back and has imperfections and faults, however a scarce example, unusually with the printing error Gi = £ 2'400.

1840: Mulready 1 d. black, two examples, used both contrary to regulations, one lettersheet dated 4 July 1840 cancelled by red Maltese Cross to the right of Britannia, with blue "The Envelope Select Advertiser" advertisement, has been reduced slightly and with faults and a pre-printing fold variety, the other a 1 d. envelope, undated, the Britannia being struck by a Penny Postage handstamp in red and the Maltese Cross to the right, back flap...

Famous English Engravers: Handwritten and signed note from Charles Heath (1785 - 1848) inviting William Watts (1752–1851) to play cards: "My dear Watts, If you have nothing better to do, come and play a rubber this evening at 8 o clock only on table, Yours truly, C.
