Jordanian "No Service" mail to Israel: misrouted 13 AU 1951 reg. a/m hotel stationary cv ex GALLE FACE Ceylon/Sri Lanka to JERUSALEM "Israel", franked 1.33R using 2 plate blocks tied by 9 strikes of local pmk + 1 on back; b/s 15 AUG 51 AEROPORT FAROUK CAIRO transit(!) & same day RAFAH REG. transit(!): mostly likely mis-sorted & "Israel" unnoticed; opened, censored & resealed in Egypt (K-Tc); b/s next day [E.] J'LEM arr.: here b/s by censor using violet diamond cachet + manuscript marked on front "return to sender no service" / "No communication via arabe(sic) zone | Bazalel Str. is in Israel" + "Israel" in addr. obliterated by crayon; b/s 18 VIII 51 BEYROUTH RE transit & 13 SE 51 Ceylon arr. This rare handling as "no service" marked by MS & not by period IM device; this is only known example of Jordanian no service w/double censorship.
