Corinphila Auction 291-297 Day 1

Overprinted at the Zanzibar Gazette 1895/96: India 1 a. 6 p. sepia (with small raised second "z") and 3 a. brown-orange used on bilingually addressed commercial registered 1896 cover to Muscat tied by "Zanzibar" thimble datestamps (Aug 22) in black. Circular 'R' below and Sea Post Office manuscript numbered registration marking alongside. Carried on the Steamer "Thames" with "Sea Post Office / C" cds (Sept 8) and "Muscat" arrival (Sept 18) in black on reverse. Slight opening faults on flap but rare.
