1840 (Feb 6): Entire letter to Morpeth on the Hunter River, rated at '10d.' in manuscript for a letter between 120 and 170 miles, missent to the nearby town of Maitland where framed "VIÂ / MAITLAND" handstamp applied in black in lieu and forwarded to the correct destination. Reverse with two strikes of oval framed "MAITLAND / ♚ / POST OFFICE" well struck on black on both Feb 17th and 18th.
