1878: ½ d. brown, postal stationery card, with clothing advertisement to back, used from London to Bradford, dated 2 February 1887, cancelled by the 'Dot Matrix' Hoster Trial Machine cancellation in black. Some imperfections to the corners and a small tear on right side, otherwise fine (H&B CP6). This postmark was in use between 2 February and 21 March 1887. This being the earliest known usage. A fine strike of this very rare cancellation (Dubus Type 45).
