British Protectorate 1815-1864 1841: Cover, second sheet of entire letter from Corfu to Vice Admiral Sir Adam Drummond in Brussels, struck with large Coat of Arms "OFFICIO DELLA POSTA GENERALE / CORFU" in black and rated "3" (pence) in manuscript for local fee. Hooded "CORFU" in black on reverse and the cover sent unpaid on British ship with London transit (May 11) and charged "3/10d." due to pay, with faint "Seebrief" entry marking and Brussels arrival (May 13) in blue and charged "59" décimes due on receipt. Believed to be the sole cover to or from Belgium and the Ionian Islands in this period.
