1875 (11th June) letter sent from Argostolion to Tagarong, endorsed (and sent) "via Vienna", franked with 1871-76 5l. yellow-green and 1862/67 80l. carmine (cut at right). mail to Russia sent over Triest and Austria is very rare, as the normal was to send letters over Constantinople. Very fine and rare postal history item. (Hellas 22b+39b).

Cover from Sina monastery franked with 2pi Egyptian stamp canc. "V.R.POSTE EGIZIANE*CAIRO*3.NOV.73", "POSTE KHED...EGIZIANE*ALESSANDRIA*3.NOV.73" and by Greek P.O. "ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΕΙΑ (97)*23.ΟΚΤ.73" to Athens. Handwritten "80" franked on arrival with 80l. rose-carmine (to pay the double rate) tied by Athnes dotted "1" cds while on reverse "ΑΘΗΝΑΙ*29.ΟΚΤ.73". Nice wax seal on flap "..ΑΡΧΙΕΠΙΣΚΟΠΟΣ ΣΙΝΑΙΟΥ..". An absolute exhibitional item. (Hellas 29a).
