Advertising envelope with letter sent on 9/4/1915 from "BAO Z" military post office based in Alexandria from a member of Steam Ship ANDANIA which at that time was preparing to transport the troops for the landing at Gallipoli. The ANDANIA was sunk by U-46 German submarine on 27/1/1918 near Rathlin Island. VERY NICE.

Levant French Offices. Envelope sent prepaid to Hahmed Bey in Constantinople from the post office of the "CHAMBRE DES DÉPUTÉS" in Paris France on "26 SEPT. 1837" (red postmark for pre-paid letters). Very high franking of 9 French Francs handwritten on back with other digits underlined by the two red seals "P.P." and "P.D." rarely used together. All paid by the "AMBASSADE DE LA SUBLIME PORTE" that use red wax to seal envelope. Arrival postmark...

Levant French Offices. Post Card of Bosphor, sent from Cospoli on 13/1/1902 fraudulent franking using 10ct black on rose French stamp PERFIN "BIO" (Banque Imperial Ottomane). The use of these stamps was strictly reserved for Bank correspondence. The very fast arrive on 16/1/1902 leads one to believe it was transported by Orient Express train. CERTANLY INTERESTING.
