Chalons 3 d. brown, a single and horizontal pair used on 1874 cover from Rockhampton to Glasgow endorsed "via Torres Straits and Brindisi", tied by "201" numeral obliterator. Found to be double weight and struck with framed "INSUFFICIENTLY PAID / VIA BRINDISI" and "DEFICIENT POSTAGE - 3 d. / FINE - 6 d. = 9d.", both in black with further large '9' in manuscript above. Reverse with Glasgow arrival (Feb 15, 1876). Listed in the Ben Palmer Queensland census on page 216.
