1859 (March 22): Entire letter to Amsterdam, franked with 1858 25 r. rose, four large to very large margins, centrally struck with dotted "1" numeral cancel, adjacent Lisbon datestamp, the domestic portion only prepaid, "80" in manuscript due from recipient, neat circular "Portugal / Bayonne" French entry mark (29 Mar), multiple backstamps with blue Mainz (24 Mar), Pyrenees a Paris (29 Mar), Bayonne a Bordeaux (29 Mar), and Amsterdam (31 Mar) backstamps, an appealing cover with many fine strikes.
