Provisional Perforations 1865: 4 d. blue and 1 s. vermilion, wmk. '2' and '12' respectively, perf. 10 all round, by J. Walch & Sons of Hobart under contract from the Post Office, used on 1866 registered cover to the Police Office in Launceston tied by mute obliterator of Hobart in black. Straight line "REGISTERED" and "PRE-PAID" circular datestamp (March 3) in red at left. Reverse with framed "PRE-PAID" datestamp (March 5) in red. A rare and fine usage.
