1882: Liberty Head, 7 c. ultramarine, plate II (second printing), used in combination with 1887 Salomon 1 c. lake and 2 c. violet, sent to Hamburg, Germany, dated 25 April 1890, tied by 'COELN (RHEIN) - VERVIERS / BAHNPOST / ZUG 6' datestamp in black and the straightline 'S.S. HUNGARIAN' ship cancel in violet, with 'AUS WESTINDIEN / UBER COLN' alongside, endorsed "Par str. Allemand", arrival to reverse 26 May 1890, very scarce mixed franking example with ship cancel with a railway handstamp. The S.S. Hungarian was a German ship from the Hamburg American Line built in 1884. Ex the Brian Moorhouse Estate.
