1878/1889: Morazan 1 r. deep green, a single example from the American Banknote Co. 1889 printing used on 1890 cover to New York cancelled by barely discernable negative 'star in circle' handstamp in violet, with oval "REPUBLIQUE DE HONDURAS / BUREAU POSTAL D'ÉXCHANGE / AMAPALA" datestamp (Jan 28) at left in violet. Reverse with 'New York / Paid All' duplex of arrival (Feb 13) in black. Cover with slight trim at left, stamp with small closed tear at right, sold with imprint block of eight of the 1 r. deep green unused. Extremely rare - one of just two covers reported bearing the ABN printing on letter. Cert. Moorhouse (2000). Ex the Brian Moorhouse estate.
