1 d. red-brown, plate 8, horizontal strip of six, lettered BG-BL, mostly ample to good margins, just touching in places, cancelled with fine strikes of 1844 London "19" numeral cancel of Halfway Street, Finsbury Park, warm shade, retaining much original gum, with some creasing and small thins, but a most attractive and rare strip, the only recorded multiple of the 1d red plate 8 with an "1844 Type" cancellation.
