1870 (Oct): Bantam ½ d. deep rose-red, plate 9, lettered KN, a single example on 1872 cover, no side flaps, addressed to the London, Brighton & South Coast Railway in Brighton; tied by 'South Shields / 704' duplex (Jan 29) in black. Reverse with Brighton cds of receipt (Jan 30). A scarce stamp on cover Gi = £ 850 off cover.
