British Protectorate 1815-1864 1831 (July 3/15): Entire letter from Paxos to Lixurion, Cefalonia with fine circular "POSTA DELLA ISOLA DI PAXO" handstamp in black and hooded "PAXO" despatch datestamp adjacent (July 15) in black. Manuscript "D3" (3d.) at right with "Rifiutata" at top left = Refused. Reverse with very fine hooded "CEFALONIA" arrival in black - or indeed, date of return. Superb strike and very rare thus.
