1883 (July 15) Envelope from the Countess de Kergaradec in Anger, France, and addressed to the Count de Kergaradec, Frigate Captain, Saigon, Chochinchina, franked Sage 25c (2) tied by "ANGERS / 15 JUIN 83 / MAINE-ET-LOIRE" cds, with array of transit and arrival mkgs alongside or on reverse, a very fine and early incoming cover. (Numbered "10" in crayon, being the code for each letter sent between the Countess and the Count.)

Note: The count, as the captain of a frigate, was sent to Cochinchina on 1 January 1869. In 1875 he was made the French Consul at Hanoi. On 1 January 1882 he became principal administrator of external affaires in Saigon. The countess was with her husband from 1879 to 1883 before returning to France.
