Price notes a drachm with the same controls, but was not aware of any staters. Likewise it is missing from Hersh's addendum to Price, but Arena includes it in her paper on the British Museum acquisitions (see V. Arena. "New Acquisitions at the British Museum: additions to Price, Alexander, and the 1870 Larnaca Hoard" NC 2003, pp. 49-57).

Thessaly, Gyrton. Æ Trichalkon (8.05 g), 3rd century BC. Laureate head of Zeus right. Reverse: ΓYPT-Ω-NIΩN, bridled horse trotting right; on ground line, grain ear right. Rogers 232; BCD Thessaly I 1054.2 (this coin). Pleasing dark green patina. Nearly Extremely Fine.

Resembling the late issues of Atrax, this coin is from the first issue of the extensive Zeus / Horse Gyrton bronzes, and lacks the magistrate's monogram which is found on all subsequent issues.
