60 reis grey-black, Intermediate Impression, a fine four margined example used on reverse of 1852 entire letter from Cuiaba to Rio de Janeiro, tied by bold strike of rare "CORREIO GERAL DE CUIABA" circular handstamp in magenta ink (Ayres fig. 1139) with manuscript date "October 13, 1852". Exceptional and rare late usage of the Bulls Eye issue-although Cuiaba is known for its late usages (see also Edition D'Or, Alemany collection, page 25). Just six covers known from Cuiaba, illustrated in Juchert "Bull's Eyes on Covers" on page 174. Some acid ink imperfections within the entire but a rare and most appealing cover. Cert.
