1861/60: 1 s. reddish-mauve, a used example with three large even margins and shaved along the edge of the design on one side, used on 1853 entire letter to Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island endorsed "Money Letter" tied by oval "1" grill handstamp in black. Reverse with ST. JOHN NEW BRUNSWICK despatch cds (Oct 5) and PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND arrival cds, both in black. Contents refer to sending the other halves of the banknotes previously mailed. File folds well away from the adhesive, a very rare stamp on letter.
