1870 (December 17), Lettre-Journal de Paris, Gazette des Absents, printed "Par Ballon Monté" at upper left, franked with 1870 40c orange, tied by "24" Paris star, adjacent Paris / R. de Cléry c.d.s., carried on "Le Davy", red boxed 'PD', to the Hague, Holland, with cds arrival backstamp (25 Dec), quite fresh, a scarce ballon monté to a foreign country, received on Christmas Day.
