Wilgus, Ariz., Mar 3, 1889 (Cochise). Oily cds (Meyer 1, rarity 7) on target canceled 1887, 2¢ green corner card entire to Manti, Utah; a bit reduced at right, F.-V.F., this is One of Only Two Recorded Examples of This Wilgus Postmark.
Estimate; $200 - 300.

The Aztec Post Office in Cochise county opened on July 21, 1887 and so the name changed to Wilgus on February 21, 1888. The post office was discontinued January 31, 1911. No usages are known during the Aztec period.
