Wreck Cover 1908: Cover from Pietersburg, Transvaal (Oct 24) to H.M. Consul in Panama, stamps washed off, recovered from the wreck of the US owned Panamian steamer "Finance", which sank following a collision with the White Star Liner "Georgic" as it was leaving New York. Three passengers and one crew member were lost as the vessel sank in under 10 minutes, one bag of mail being saved when picked up by a tug near the Sandy Hook lightship....

Canal Zone 1904: 5 c. blue optd. CANAL ZONE in violet, used on a cover, Cristobal to Panama, dated 13 July 1904, tied Cristobal cds with Canal / Zone bars cancel alongside both in black. To the reverse a violet dispatch backstamp alongside an arrival cds in black (JUL 14). Small opening tear top left well clear of adhesive. A fine example and scarce issue on cover. Cert. PF (1987).
