Postal stationery envelope 3 Kreuzer in size A with franking mark "KROTZINGEN 7.NOV.(72)" to Gailingen with forwarding to Schaffhausen in Switzerland with blue ink annotation on face "Schon längst nach Schaffhausen verzogen") and postage due marking "40" (Rappen) in blue (postal stationery was credited with 10 Rappen). Then returned to Krotzingen with "Return unknown" in black ink on face and presented to the Return Letter Commission in Constance, officially opened andwith pictorial stamp "ZUR ERMITTELUNG DES ABSENDERS AMTLICH ERÖFFNET DURCH DIE KAIS. OBER-POSTDIRECTION KONSTANZ" to Krotzingen with arrival postmark and sender's note on face. The envelope with small traces of transport, otherwise in good overall condition, a very interesting and scarce postal return cover, additionally with the earliest known use of this postal stationary to date
