Corinphila Auction 291-297 Day 3

1859/65: Eagle 20 c. blue, a single example paying the Military concession rate to Toulon, France addressed to the 'Artillerie de la Marine', cancelled by 81 dot diamond lozenge in black with "ETABS. FR. DE L'INDE / PONDICHERY" despatch cds and octagonal "CORR. D'ARM. / PONDICHERY" in blue (March 9) and framed 'PD' adjacent. Carried by the "Cambodge" from Galle to Suez and the "Said" to Marseille. Reverse with Toulon arrival (April 8). Small imperfections but rare.
