British P.O. 1865: India 2 a. orange and 1866 4 a. green (Gi. 62+69) used on 1869 entire letter to London paying the ½ ounce rate, tied by "Pondichery / 111" duplex in black (Feb 21). Curved "INDIA PAID" in red applied in Madras alongside. Carried by rail to Bombay (Feb 27) to connect with P&O "Travancore" to Suez, thence on the "Poonah" from Alexandria to Southampton via Malta. 'London / Paid' arrival in red (March 31). A fine and attractive entire.
