TURKEY: Abdul Hamid II, 1876-1909, Tarz-i jedid Buyuk Imtiyaz medal, AH1300 (1883), SET of Grand Medal of Distinction (Tarz-i jedid Buyuk Imtiyaz), 1) Gold Imtiaz-Medal Miniature with Swords, 15.8mm; with suspension bar and ribbon bar with swords (bronze gilt) and new ribbon, 2) Silver Imtiaz-Medal Miniature, also 15.8mm; with suspension ring and tiny piece of new ribbon, set of 2 medals, VF to EF, R. The Imtiyaz Medal was an Ottoman military decoration, instituted in 1882. It was presented in two classes, gold and silver and awarded for extraordonary bravery and loyalty to the State.
