Recess by H. C. Gillet 1854 (April): 5 c. deep chocolate-brown, a used horizontal pair, the left stamp just clear at top, otherwise good to very large margins with parts of two neighbouring stamps at left, tied by two clear black target handstamps to 1855 cover to Valparaiso with red "SANTIAGO" despatch cds (July 31). Recess by Desmadryl 1854 (Feb.): 10 c. deep blue, a used example in pair with a diagonally bisected stamp, both touched in various places, tied to entire letter endorsed "Vapor" by two strikes of a black "target" cancel with "COPIAPO 18 JUNIO 55" cds to Valparaiso. An attractive usage to pay the 10 centavos internal letter rate (9-14.4g) plus the additional 5 centavos for letters sent by steamship along the littoral. Cert. Sismondo (2004)....

1854 (April): Lithographed by Gillet 5 c. light red-brown, a used example with large even margins all round, cancelled by smallest part of straight line cancel with just the "O" showing in black and leaving the Colon vignette almost entirely clear.
