1877/80: Sage 15 c. blue, strip of four, used on cover, from Paris sent locally, dated 27 June 1880, cancelled by a Pearson Hill Parallel Motion Machine Trial 'Paris / Depart' cancel in black with partial Paris arrival mark dated the same day. Featured are the London duplex cancels; '2', '4', '5', '6', '87', '88' and '89'. With the exception of the '89' all are single 1 d. frankings, the latter having a 2 d. blue. Spray, perf. 14, used on cover, London to Paris, France, dated 4 November 1870, cancelled by the Azemar Machine cancel Code 'AP' in black, second Trial, with red 'PD' in oval and black Calais transit alongside (NO 5). 1871: ½ d. pale lilac postal stationery card, a used example, sent from London to Devon, 17 November 1870, cancelled by the extremely rare experimental Sloper 'Orb & Cross' Perforation Machine cancel. To reverse an arrival datestamp in black (Nov 3). Slight soiling, otherwise a fine card (H&B CP2) with clean crisp punch holes. One of seven known examples of the standing 'Orb & Cross' punch hole cancel.

1871: ½ d. pale lilac postal stationery card, reply part, a used example, sent from Edinburgh to Aberdeen, 22 August 1871, cancelled by the Edinburgh Bullet Experimental cancellation, showing a 3mm. diameter punch hole. Rare. One of five recorded examples.

1878: Stampless dummy cover with the Vaile Experimental Trial Machine cancellation in black. Despite the trial taking place in London during April 1878 all the dater dials indicate "C / N.Z. / AUCKLAND / SE 2 / 74".
