1856: 6 d. lilac, plate 1, has fault top right, in combination with 1858: 2 d. blue, plate 9 and 1862 9 d. bistre, plate 2, used on cover, from London to Amsterdam, dated 11 February 1862, tied by London '12' upright barred oval, with 'England/Franco' itallic handstamp in blue-green alongside. To the reverse a London small cds in blue (11 February) and an arrival single circle in red (13 February 1862). A fine and scarce example. Fewer than ten examples of the 1856 6 d. combined with the 9 d. plate 2 are recorded.
