Group of four covers, all presented upon exhibition pages with detailed write-up. Includes an 1865 mourning envelope (faults) sent to 'Major Nightingale, 3rd Cavalry in Bolarum, India', franked with a tri-colour combination of line engraved and surface printed issues (1 s. 8 d. rate) with two 2 d. blues, 4 d. red and two 6 d. lilac (faults). Also a fine mourning cover dated 7 March 1862 franked with 1 s. green plate 1 and a 4 d. red plate 3, sent London to Montreal - fewer than ten covers recorded with this combination franking. Two other covers franked with 4 d. adhesives one with a 1 s. green, the second with a 3 d. rose. A rare and interesting selection (4).
