1918 (Oct): 2 s. brown, Die II, wmk. third (narrow) Crown over A, perf. 12, an unused marginal block of four from right of sheet, well centred and of fine colour, large part og. with three stamps unmounted og. Third Watermark 1916/26: Kangaroo £ 2 purple-black & pale rose, Die II, third narrow Crown over A wmk., perf. 12, an unused example of strong colour, well centred and of fresh appearance, large part og. A fine and rare stamp Gi = £ 4'500.

1929 (June 12): 1 s. blue-green, Die IIB, wmk. Multiple A and Crown, perf.12, an unused block of four divided by vertical interpanneau margin, with full "JOHN ASH / AUSTRALIAN NOTE AND STAMP PRINTER" imprint at base, second stamp showing variety "Break in North Coast of Tasmania" (j), well centred and of superb colour, large part og., lower pair unmounted og. Scarce and most attractive. Cert. Brandon (2021) Brusden White 34(3)z = $ 1'000.

1932 (July 31): 10 s. grey & pink, Die II, wmk. Crown C of A, perf. 12, an unused horizontal pair divided by vertical interpanneau margin showing full ""JOHN ASH / AUSTRALIAN NOTE AND STAMP PRINTER" imprint at base, right hand stamp variety "Open Mouth on Kangaroo", fresh and very fine, large part og. Scarce, the variety found on the last printings only. Cert. Brandon (2021) Brusden White 50zc = $ 3'750.

New Guinea, Registration Labels Surcharged for Postage 1915 (Jan): Group three labels surcharged 'GRI / 3d.', on 'Rabaul (Deutsch - Neuguinea)' label (#143), on 'Friedrich-Wilhelmshafen (Deutsch Neuguinea)' label (#38), and on 'Herbertshöhe (Deutsch Neuguinea)' label (#41), an unused group without gum, fresh and fine. Gi = £ 975.

1935-39: The three Pound-denomination airmail stamps — £2 and £5 from 1935, and £1 from 1939 - all fine used. SG £760.

Lots & Collections 1856/1911: Assembly of predominately unused items, comprising 18 examples and a cover relating to the Australia states. Noted among others, NSW 1860 Registration (6 d.) rose-red & blue unused with variety "Blue Frame Printed Double" (Gi 127 var Cert. Ceremuga 2015); Western Australia 1860/64 2 d. pale orange unused with roulettes on three sides and imperf. left (Gi 29 = £ 850); South Australia 1870 3 PENCE on 4 d....

1902/11: Group of unused material including two sets (Gi 62/70 & 71/74) and 1906/11 1 d. imperforate Colour Trial in dull purple and green, wmk. Multiple Crown CA, fine and fresh with large part og. Also variety 'Sloping 2' on unused 1902/07 2½ d. ultramarine (Gi 63a = £ 250) and a number of duplicates to 5 s. of the same issue. A mostly fine selection (22).

1955:  2 r. on 2 s. 6 d. yellow-green, a used left marginal vertical pair, top stamp with variety "I inverted & Raised", the lower stamp with surcharge type III, cancelled with multiple strikes of the "Bahrain Registered" oval in black. Fresh and fine appearance. Scarce variety. Cert. RPSL (1983) Gi = £ 1'340.

1892/1903: Seal of Colony issue three imperforate Colour Trials for the 3 d. value, one in mauve with country name handpainted in Chinese white (partly chipped away and has crease) on thin wove paper; one in bright lilac and another in olive-brown, both affixed to a small piece of card (26 x 22mm.), printed on unwatermarked paper, without gum, of fresh and fine appearance. Rare examples.

1934 (Feb.): ½ d. emerald, wmk. Multiple Script CA, perf. 12½, Overprinted "OFFICIAL" by the Govt. Printer in Pretoria, a used example, cancelled by part "MASERU" circular datestamp in black, good colour, slight climatic discolouration, otherwise very fine. The most valuable used stamp of Basutoland. Cert. BPA (1972) & Ceremuga (2009) Gi = £ 8'000.
 

1889 (March): "Protectorate / Fourpence" surcharge in black on GB ½ d. vermilion, a used example, variety "ourpence" omitted (Row 9, stamp 2), cancelled by numeral obliterator in black, probably "676" of Palachwe or "679" of Tati but third figure unclear, however the cancellation fortunately leaves the remaining "F" of "Fourpence" clear. Slightest soiling at upper left but an extraordinary and very rare stamp with no example in the Inglefield...
