1854/1862: Group of 10 c. deep blue items, comprising seven used singles (shades), three horizontal pairs, all good to large margins all round, a used block of four, cut into, a strip of five used with large part of row above, just touching in places, a vertical block of six (2 x 3), cut into in parts, also a used strip of seven, cut into in places but impressive and a cover with a single four margin tied, dated 30 September 1857, from Tacna...

1856/62: Santiago print 10 c. blue / deep blue; two cover fronts: one with 1860 10 c deep blue in pair with one stamp diagonally bisected used from Concepcion (Nov 10) to Valparaiso tied by blue target cancels; the other used in similar fashion in 1861 from Serena (Sept 5) to Santiago tied by "CANCELLED" obliterators in black Gi = £ 340+/Scott = $ 400+.

1865c./1940: Registered Mail, the collection of covers/cards (18) with spectacular circa 1865 front of cover to Valparaiso with "CANCELLED" obliterator struck in four corners, framed "CERTIFICADA" and TALCA cds in black; 1896 rouletted 20 c. black used on registered cover to GB, 1897 registered AR cover to Paris with labels; 1901/04 registered and AR covers to Argentina, Belgium, GB and Uruguay, 1907 reg's AR cover with labels to Greece, 1928...

1867: 1 c. grey to 20 c. green "Columbus"  or "Primera dentado" issue, superb collection with cover (29), giving a comprehensive overview over the uses of this issue. The lot includes many different "fancy cancels", both on and off cover, uses of early cancels, a fine MULTADA cover from COPIAPO to SANTIAGO, a fine letter from TOME to LIMA and many other exceptional items.

1867: Group of three covers with perforation 12 issues, comprising an example franked with five single 10 c. blue sent from Valparaiso to Copiapo, endorsed "per vapor", also a scarce combination of a 10 c. blue and 20 c. green on cover to Carrizal-Bajo, endorsed "per vapor Guayaquil", tied by mute crossroads cancel and a wrapper franked with horizontal pair of 20 c. green sent from Valparaiso 28 April 1868 to Buenos Aires, tied by a "...

1868: Stampless cover sent from Valparaiso to Le Havre, dated 10 January 1868, with "ADMINSTRACION P DE CORREOS (CHILE)", sent via Panama with "PANAMA / 30 JA 1868 / TRANSIT" in black alongside as well as a French packet datestamp, carried upon "Lafayette" at Colon on 1 February, an arrival to reverse dated 25 February 1868, horizontal filing crease, rare cover; the Valparaiso mark is not listed in Rego and West book. 1872/1935: Collection of the Postal Stationery of Chile in seven volumes, consisting of over five hundred pieces with many good and unusual items, such as a 112 x 73mm Specimen of the 1872 2 c. local envelope, which remained unissued due to the ship "TACORA" sinking with the entire print-run of 263'000 envelopes. 1877/90: Cancellation collection on the rouletted issues, from Ancud to Yungay with 237 stamps mostly with clear cancellations, together with advertising envelope for an Opticians franked at 25 c. from Iquique with blue "AR" handstamp; 10 c. postal stationery envelope up-rated with 15 c. to Medan, Sumatra endorsed "via New Zealand" with "AR" label and 1891 registered Winch Brothers cover at double rate franked by 10 c. and 20 c. adhesives....

1881: Pacific War covers, Pacific Steam Navigation Company printed backflap envelope sent to Valparaiso, endorsed "Urgente" with fine oval "FRANCA / 10 Cts / CALLAO" paid mark to Valparaiso treated as unpaid with oval "VALPARAISO / 10c / MULTADA" applied alongside on arrival, to reverse, "VALPARAISO CHILE" datestamp 22 November 1881, a rare cover, comes with an 1881 envelope sent to Santiago with circular "INSPECCION DE LOS PUERTOS DEL...

1889/1902: "ROULETADOS", specialised collection of seventeen franked and registered letters up to 1 p dark brown and black, including postal stationery with additional franking, mostly "AVIS RECEPTION", with overseas destinations including "ADRIANOPEL", "MODENA", "NEW YORK", "KIRKEE" (Brit.India) and others. Many letters bear different registration labels. The lot is complemented by three official letters without frankings.
