 Lot 420 - united states draped bust cents - Ira & Larry Goldberg Coins & Collectibles, Inc. Pre-Long Beach Auction #841803 S-264 R4+ Large Date, Small Fraction Fair-2. Slightly sharper but there are a few dozen small pits scattered over the obverse. No verdigris but the remainder of the planchet is covered with microscopic granularity under attractive glossy medium chocolate brown and steel toning. The only contact marks are a scuff of shallow scratches from the rim at the top of the obverse down into the hair where they fade away. The date is complete and easily readable although the 3 is weak. The rim is wearing into the legend on the reverse and the denominator of the fraction is gone, but the numerator is still visible. Five points sharper but recolored glossy light chocolate brown and steel. The surfaces are smooth and the only marks are a rim nick left of the lowest curl and a very light rim bruise over the second T in STATES. Nice eye appeal for the grade, close to F15. MDS. Sharper by at least 10 points but the obverse fields were burnished and the color is now a very attractive glossy medium brown and light chocolate. The only marks are a small planchet flake on the right top of the T in LIBERTY and a small rim dent left of the first S in STATES. M-LDS, Breen state III, with swelling in the field at the lower curls. Struck with the obverse die slightly misaligned to K-4. The overdate is bold. A tiny planchet chip low on the neck is the best identifying mark. M-LDS, Breen state III, with a die crack arcing from the rim up through the 1 and lower curls to the rim left of the hair ribbon.
